Calender shows that today is 19 September 2012. A very new beginning for a new posting for all members of group B. Reluctantly waking up from the ever tempting bed which call for more beauty sleep, each and every one gets ready for the class.
"Good morning!!"
Greet one person and everyone heard it, pretty much thanks to the echo in the building. It seems like for today, the echo is louder than yesterday. Of course it is louder silly, the building is empty!
That's right.. It is Sunday morning and apart from the guards and also another group who is attending Dr Ashutosh Orthopedics class, it seems like we are the only soul in the whole building.
Time showed sharp at 8am, Prof KA Narayan walks in and greet the whole class. "Welcome to Community Medicine class"
and with that our community medicine posting starts. Prof took class for Community Medicine, explaining to all student which at that time, mostly would be thinking why am i here, why it is important for a medical student to attend such a posting. The introduction class went well. It did, hopefully, instilled some idea on some students on why the posting is been introduced in medical school.
Finishing with introduction, there is some matters yet to be settled. That happening week doesn't only marks the beginning of a new posting, but it too mark the beginning of the ever scary CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT!!! Unfortunately, our group were chosen to be going to Padang Terap which took almost around 2 hours to reach. Being a very considerate and understanding coordinator, Prof KA Narayan agreed to let us off the hook for 2 days ,ie, the 2 days where we were supposed to be in Padang Terap for 1st week. The 2 days were changed into presentation days in AIMST. How happy and grateful we are to SIR.. =)
Although one of our main problem had solved, it seems like there is another. TRANSPORTATION!! Sadly, Prof informed the group that there is no transport provided by AIMST which mean that, we were supposed to pay for our own transport. Even discussion with Dean seems to met with dead end. The problem left unsolved to this date.
After concluding the day, with good news and also bad and also presentation date set, Prof dismissed the class. This concludes our first day for our community medicine posting. Tiring as it may sound, anticipation is ahead for everyone. Let's enjoy the posting, for now~
