KKKN Part 1

We took the bus as the location of our posting was very far.
Dr. Prakash on the other hand opted to drive on his own to Padang Terap.

We were running a little late but we reached the DHO at Padang Terap safe and sound. However, the big boss wasn't around for the day and was unable to do a general briefing for us. We received some pointers and a general idea of what was going on by Daniel (as we call him) and given further directions. Anway, we were whisked to Klinik Kesihatan Kuala Nerang (KKKN) to start our  week there.

Upon reaching KKKN, we met the lovely Sister Cha and was somewhat briefed by Dr. Haziqi when we got to get some of our doubts answered for about half an hour.

Later, as requested by Sister Cha, we divided ourselves into the four available rooms that patients are assigned to when they register.

In KKKN, the patients are coded according to the place they are staying and then will be assigned to specific rooms or rather staff nurses stationed there to provide Personalised Care for the patient. Hence one staff nurse will be responsible for all patients in a given area and be able to understand the patient's background and medical history better.

Hence, they don't really divide it into antenatal care, child health, family planning clinics but the same patient goes to the same staff nurse for all these different purposes from the start till the finish.

Some of the services include:
Antenatal and Postnatal Clinic
Maternal and child health
Family planning

Basically our day at the clinic was pretty much like another day in OPD in a O&G/Pediatrics Posting. Though, we did get some of our queries/doubts about the system clarified so that was good in a way!

Anyway, the following are some informative pictures that really important, mind you!

First and foremost, some general information:

The colour coded areas

A map of KKKN's Operation areas

The best i could get, anyway the obscured part can be seen in the next picture

The importance of communication:
