School Health

My topic for presentation was school health and I presented it on 21st March 2o12.

I presented regarding significance, rationale and goals of school health. There are few aspects under child’s health that need attention. 
Under school health programme there are few plans. Firstly is school supplementary programme to improve health and nutrititional status of the child from rural are.Dr Prakash told me to check out whether this programme was effectively carried out.Secondly is school immunization schedule.For children in standard one they are given MMR,HPV (GIRLS) in form 1 and TT(form 3 students).There are also dental service at preschool and school level.School health programme team under ministry of health help in assessing the health status of school going children.Dr Prakash asked me to find out the activities done and how effective it is.There are many progrrammes under the team,for example visual screening,hearing screening,physical examination,anthropometry.There is also health education,for example tobacco and drugs,sex education,hygiene.There will be a book that is buku rekod kesihatan murid(student health record book) to record all the examination.If any abnormalities detected the child will be referred to the nearest hospital to get further treatment.This book will be kept by the school
